When the kit is returned to our laboratory, dental stone is poured into the impression to create a model of the athleteâteeth. Multiple layers of the mouthguard material are laminated directly over the athleteâmodel, using high heat and pressure, providing the best overall fit and protection. The number of layers used and the thickness of each layer is based on the athleteâage group, type of contact sport and the level at which it is played.
