With our self impression kit, athletes can take their own impression in the custom impression tray provided, using the impression material included.

The Defender Mouthguard self impression kit is a simple, two step procedure.

In Step 1, the enclosed impression tray will be softened in boiling water and custom fit to your mouth.

In Step 2, you will mix the impression material, load the tray and take the impression of your upper teeth.

When the kit is returned to our laboratory, dental stone is poured into the impression to create a model of the athlete’s teeth. Multiple layers of the mouthguard material are laminated directly over the athlete’s model, using high heat and pressure, providing the best overall fit and protection. The number of layers used and the thickness of each layer is based on the athlete’s age group, type of contact sport and the level at which it is played.
